  Summary

Atomic Planet Entertainment was given the honour of converting the classic Arcade and Playstation puzzle game to the Gameboy Advance. As we are all huge fans of the original, we have made the greatest of efforts to make this version as authentic as possible, painstakingly recreating its gameplay down to the last detail from the original graphics and source code.

The gameplay In Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo, as with all great puzzle games, is easy to learn but frustratingly difficult to master. Played against a computer controlled opponent or another human player, the object of the game is to group together gems of the same colour as they descend from the top of the screen. These gems can then be destroyed with either a Crash Gem or Rainbow Gem, sending them onto your hapless rival's screen.

To compliment the frenetic pace of Super Puzzle Fighter, players can select from one of eight super-deformed characters from the Street Fighter and Darkstalkers series. Once the battle begins, they then play out the action on the screen as gems are smashed and countered with unique drop patterns that determine how counter gems are sent onto the opposing side.

  Quotes

"The addictive gameplay, deep strategizing and loads of cool Capcom flare have me very excited about almost every aspect of this game! Obviously, I can’t wait to get my hands on what should be the definitive puzzle game for the GBA early this Spring!" - Nintendophiles, December 2002

"Speaking as an editor who owns nearly each and every version, Puzzle Fighter is a beautiful game and finally anyone will be able to take it with them wherever they go and challenge anyone they wish to a game of block smashing goodness on the Gameboy Advance." - Nintendo Target
